I was asked to be the environment team lead after working at Smartbomb for little more than a year.  

At the time Smartbomb was developing a brand new engine.  A large part of my job was trouble shooting various bugs, developing the new shader system, and optimizing the object and image libraries.  With time we were able to smooth out the work flow, increase frame rate, and optimize our levels so they would run and load smoothly within the amount of memory we were allotted.

I hired two artists who both became a great asset to the company and I am very proud of the work we did.  Unfortunately, in the end Microsoft only agreed to distribute the multiplayer part of the game and the 20+ levels planned for the single player missions were scrapped.
